TRIBUTE TO THE QUEEN

Desert Star Holdings Limited is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

In her service to nation and to countless causes around the world she was without peer.

Her Majesty’s loss to Britain, and to the sport of horse racing, is unquantifiable. Desert Star Holdings Limited extends its condolences to the people of Britain and to a family in mourning.

 

 

TAKGROUP CHAIRMAN PARTICIPATES IN KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE ALONGSIDE DIVERSE GROUP OF INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRY LEADERS AT WORLD TOURISM FORUM LUCERNE

The tourism world’s best and brightest minds descended on the Swiss alpine city of Lucerne to discuss and present the industry’s future paths and opportunities at the 2021 World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL). Think tanks and keynote speeches involving established leaders from varied industries and presentations from young leaders were core to the five-day event which was held against a backdrop of cautious optimism.

This year’s WTFL was the third occasion Ar. Teo Ah Khing had been invited to participate. Representing the TAKGroup of Companies (Teo A. Khing Design Consultants, Desert Star Group, Alpina Mountain Resort and Spa etc), he also co-sponsored the Young Talent Programme alongside Mr. Samih Sawiris (Chair Orascom Development Holding) and Mr. Reto Wittwer (Chairman, World Tourism Forum Lucerne; Founder and Chairman of Smart Hospitality Solutions).

The World Tourism Forum Lucerne is the only tourism platform where international top-level decision makers from industry, government, academia and finance collaborate on future challenges together with tomorrow’s generation.

‘Pearl’ To Transform The South

SAINT LUCIA is poised for significant advances in its tourism product and business environment thanks to the “Pearl of the Caribbean” project which is expected to commence construction in 2017. The southern-based project, estimated to cost about US$2.6 billion, is a fully integrated equestrian oriented development which will encompass the Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club and its expected world class horse racing, and related entertainment, leisure and accommodation amenities. At a sod-turning ceremony last Friday by Prince Harry there were several announcements made on the impact of the project and the unique opportunities it brings.

US $2.6 b. Project For Vieux Fort

THE perennial lament that the island’s southern quadrant has been short on development is likely to become a thing of the past following a major development project earmarked for that area, announced yesterday. Prime Minister Allen Chastanet and Chairman of Desert Star Holdings Ltd, Teo Ah Khing, signed an agreement that should pave the way for a US$2.6 billion international standard integrated development. Dubbed “Pearl of the Caribbean”, the major multifaceted 700-acre project will include a marina, racecourse, resort and shopping mall complex, casino, free trade zone, extensive entertainment and leisure facilities and over 1500 architecturally-designed villas and apartments.
